An intoxicating combination of strawberries, cherries, plums and anise, all underlined by a touch of truffles,
exotic mushrooms and spices. A smooth, velvety entry opens into an elegant mouthful of fruit – preserved raspberries and cherries
– surrounded by oaky spice with cinnamon and sandalwood flavours. Fresh, lively acidity balances the supple and juicy tannins and the finish is long, it varies from fruit to satisfying
truffles and earthiness. A pleasant and warm wine that is best enjoyed with venison or a robust mushroom risotto. George Paul Canitz (who owned Muratie from 1927 to 1958) had two great passions in life: painting and Pinot Noir. He earned local and international fame for painting well into his seventies - he could barely keep up with the flow of art lovers to Muratia to buy his paintings, which even adorned the walls of his private tavern (or "kneipzimmer"). But as the country's first-ever Pinot Noir grower, it was Pinot Noir that ultimately earned him his greatest reputation. The wine was aged for 16 months in French oak before bottling. ALCOHOL 13.82%
