Vergelegen Premium Chardonnay

VARIETIES
100% Chardonnay from the estate

The wine has an attractive lemon-yellow-green color with a complex aroma of citrus, peach, tropical fruit and mineral notes. 
The taste is long and full with fine wood. Beautifully refined and elegant.
This is the ninth year that Vergelegen estate grapes have been used exclusively in the production of the premium Chardonnay.
The 2020 crop is the smallest ever, one third of the normal crop, and I believe the effect of global warming has taken effect.

ORIGIN
The 2020 Chardonnay is produced exclusively from grapes grown on the Estate at Rocklands, Rooiland, Slanghoek and Korhaan.

VINIFICATION
The grapes were pressed whole and there was no contact with the skin. The juice, slightly clarified, was curled
up to 20% new French oak barrels (Francois Frère, Dargaud & Jaegle, St Martin and 80% second, third and fourth filling)
for alcoholic fermentation.
