This great wine stands out with a really full smoky flavour with a fruity touch for which
it is admired by professionals and all lovers of quality wine.
This wine is bottled in larger 1.5l bottles, which further enhances the already full harmonious taste.
The cool seaside climate and strict harvest control create perfectly ripe grapes that are harvested by hand,
carefully sorted and vinified.
The palate is rich and concentrated with dark fruit flavours that were evident on the nose,
but the mid-palate shows fantastic balance and finesse.
Delicious, soft tannins provide mouth-coating texture and excellent length.
The wine appears to be fully developed when young with incredible maturation potential.
A carefully crafted blend of 32% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot, 17% Cabernet Franc 17%, Petit Verdot and 10% Malbec.
The wine was aged for 18 months in 75% new and 25% second-fill French oak (225L) barrels. After barrel aging, the wine received only a very light filtration before entering the bottle.
This is a truly superb vintage of Constantia Glen FIVE which we hope will continue to age and develop beautifully in bottle easily another 12 to 15 years under ideal cellar conditions.
